YOGA IN SCHOOLS

We work with schools to provide classes to fit with the National Curriculum, topics or themes and the physical and mental needs of the children. Classes are age appropriate and feature breathing and mindfulness techniques. Practicing yoga and mindfulness gives children the tools they need to manage their feelings in this fast paced world. Yoga is non-competitive and so enables children to grow in confidence and self-esteem.

Yoga supports learning and emotional well-being for children at school in the following ways:

• Breathing exercises develop concentration and provide calm
• Balance, body awareness and co-ordination reduce injury risk and improve sporting performance
• Stories, music and adventure provide an imaginative and creative framework for younger children
• Relaxation promotes better concentration and sleep and yoga improves verbal and spatial memory
• Mindfulness helps the child to self regulate their emotions, reduces anxiety and builds confidence and self esteem

Young Yogis provides:
• Yoga clubs
• Yoga for PE
• Yoga as part of the wider curriculum
• SEN classes and chair yoga
• Mindfulness classes

Our teachers have Yoga and Mindfulness Teacher Training qualifications, DBS checks and full insurance.
